Description

Dari is a vibrant young woman, about 5'6" tall, slender and athletic. Her shoulder-length curly black hair is only partially restrained by a crimson band, and her black eyes appear to miss nothing. Her dark complexion marks her as possibly having the blood of the Ffolk - which may also be the source of her incredibly beautiful speaking and singing voice. 

Dari usually wears bold colors, and her favorite outfit consists of crimson pants tucked into black boots, a white shirt, and a grey belt. Her greatsword rides in a sheath on her back, and she usually has a small flute or whistle-pipe tucked in one boot. 

Background and Personality

The prominence of Dari's family ensured that when the toddler proved to have a sweet speaking voice, and a phenomenal singing voice, she was given the very best of training. Between her parents and her training, discipline was instilled in her at a very early age, though she still had a rebellious streak. At the age of 6, she announced that she would continue her music lessons only if she could have lessons in swordplay as well. Her father was delighted to agree, and Dari grew up with equal competance in sword and song, and an almost-equal facility in riding.

At 16, she volunteered for the Knights in Silver, and was accepted. She spent the next three years riding with the Knights and increasing her mastery of song, spell, and sword. She earned the right to carry a magical greatsword during those years, and picked up a few other small items as well. 

Just after her 19th birthday, with three years in the Knights, Dari was promoted from knight-at-arms to knight-errant.  On that occasion, her father also presented her with his personal gift, a magical mithral shirt. 

Family

Dari is the daughter of Sernius Alathar, the Commander of the Knights in Silver, and his wife Kalinde, a high-ranking priestess of Lathander. Both are ?? people, but have a soft spot in their hearts for their sometimes-rebellious daughter. Sernius in particular has been very careful not to show favoritism when dealing with Dari, and in fact has delegated most of her training and left her under the command of others. When "commander" and "commanded", therefore, their relationship is very businesslike, a contrast to the close father / daughter relationship they share. 

Kalinde is philosophical about her daughter's choice of occupation and closeness with her father - she would have liked to have seen Dari immerse herself completely in her music, or perhaps take up a less-warlike secondary career.
