RONIN ORDERS

You happened to be in Eiyu Province when you discovered that this large harvest festival was occurring. The Lion welcomed you with surprising generosity, and are currently supplying you with simple meals and lodgings for the duration of the festival. They are asking nothing in return, simply stating that they are passing on the blessings of Inari. During your short stay here, an Akodo has approached each of you, and seems to be more receptive to your words than most clan samurai.

The Daimyo of Eiyu Provice owes this amazing harvest to a large, but portable, Shrine of Inari. This shrine has traveled between Lion provinces each year for some time, but he is said to be looking outside the Lion for the next place to send the Shrine. The word of a Ronin rarely counts in these situations, but the Akodo has said that they would like your advice on this matter. They may choose to speak up for one of the Empire’s provinces if you support it well enough. They have made veiled remarks about the Wolf Legion and the Monkey Clan, which are even odder from a Returned Spirit. Regardless, they have said that if you prove your wisdom by matching your advice to the province selected by the Daimyo, you will receive a great reward: either a weapon of your choice (no katana or wakazashi), or a suit of ashigaru armor.

Otomo Hanabira has unexpectedly decided to answer the Lion’s invitation to this festival in person. He is very well connected at court, and is one of many helping to arrange the full state funeral of the Empress. It has been passed on from reliable sources that he will be seeking three samurai to assist in the Funeral, a bushi, a shugenja, and a courtier. It will not be possible for a Ronin to stand in these ceremonies, but perhaps you might help others come to their resolutions.
