Dirigo 2nd – Made a surprising discovery today. A tomb cover in a temple isn’t odd, but inscription gave me a shock. “Gahiira naaga” not expected beneath temple to Pantheon. Salitis’ enemies?? Anxious to see what is beneath cover. More tomorrow night.
Dirigo 3rd – Cover removed safely. Tunnel underneath—evidence of much older culture on this site. Possible previous cultures in area limited by geography and historical movements. Dreamt last night of inscription and picture on cover. Anxious to continue, but worried for some reason.
Dirigo 4th – Nice chat with Isavar today, smart lady. Her concern is touching. Don’t like being totally underground. Tunnel filled in by Auxunites with volcanic rock, likely mined from hills nearby. Strange sounds in tunnel, like whispers—likely pressurized pockets of escaping air.
Dirigo 5th – All day in tunnel, deep and long, but straight—likely a magma chute. Slept poorly last night, dreamt of cover-stone again. Also found small amber crystal in tunnel debris, faint magical aura—Abjuration. Very odd.
Dirigo 6th – Unbelievable! Apparently intact room at tunnel end. Writing on walls Auxunite, but construction obviously Ss’ressen. Very tired tonight, long day tomorrow. More later.
Dirigo 7th – Room seems intact. 1/4 excavated already (Earth elementals do well!) Very tired today, edgy. Slept poorly again last night. Excited about Ss’ressen outpost find. Dreamt of meeting strange, obsidian skinned Ss’ressen.
Dirigo 8th – Antechamber 1/3 excavated. Damaged wall making room’s structural integrity an issue. Eventually worked it out. More small bits of Abjurative amber found in rubble. Auxunite inscriptions worrisome.
Dirigo 9th – Antechamber 2/3 excavated. Small Elementals speed impressive. Also good for retrieving artifacts intact. Isavar and others very excited. Something still bothers me though. Not sure what or why. Still on edge. Dreamt last night of large, shadow-figure behind obsidian Ss’ressen. Apprehensive about what lies ahead. naagaaH kSaanti ?
Dirigo 10th – Antechamber fully excavated. Western doorway still collapsed, full of rubble. Partially collapsed south wall reveals further hidden room. New room entirely encased in pale amber. Amber is warm to touch, easy to crack. Ss’ressen statues within?? Dreams more troubling now. Not only obsidian Ss’ressen—also sense unseen hoard hiding behind shadowy figure. naagaaH kSaanti ? Tried to discuss with Isavar. She didn’t understand. Will try to get more sleep. Maybe drink Savonan Red now to celebrate discovery.
Dirigo 11th – Slight hangover. Began chiseling out statues today. Easy work compared to excavating. Almost like amber is pre-cracked for us. Worst dream last night. Same dream: obsidian Ss’ressen, shadowy figure, unseen hoards. Now add drove of small winged obsidian snakes bursting from ground. Heard whispered phrase in dream: naagaaH kSaanti ? Focusing on ancient writings too much. Will ask Razini for help translating tomorrow— the Canceri woman is an expert linguist. Probably should have done so sooner.
