But in addition to this, we must also keep harmony between the factions of the church and the nations of Onara. For what good is a unified church if such a church is hated by men?
There is, too, a time when a radical, lost in his own evil and darkness, seeks to destroy the church. Such an individual should be healed if possible. If this is not possible, however, he should be destroyed.
Such a man currently resides in Old Coryan. He has been tracked long and far by agents of the Inquisition, so far covertly. However, this heretic has now caused a crime that has gained the notice of Coryani politicians, a kidnapping. This has complicated things considerably, for the Inquisition cannot move freely while under scrutiny, nor does the Orthodoxy wish them to.
Thus, you will be dispatched to Old Coryan for one purpose, and one purpose only – do what is necessary to placate your employer, by any means necessary, honestly or deceitfully, as quickly as possible, so you can get adventurers and investigators out of the Inquisition’s way. Nimius Macro is a hard man, and he will not back down without proof of some kind. Manufacture such proof if necessary.
Be aware that you are working alone in this. The Inquisition agents have not been given your identity, nor should they. Expect some hostility if you are seen as interfering with their work.
