Three birds call into your ear, then you feel a weighty object materializes in your pocket/pouch. Once in private, you retrieve the small wooden hawk. Pricking your finger, you carefully place a drop of blood into the hawk’s open mouth and speak your personal code word. Briefly the hawk’s eyes flare with an eerie blue glow, and then its beak moves speaking the message directly into your mind.
“Greetings. We have detected a high level of Harvester activity in the immediate area. We believe the disappearances at the Blessed Relief Orphanage may be related. If you can confirm Harvester activity, eliminate the threat at all costs, including sacrificing the children if need be. Additionally, any information you can discover about Harvester methods, agents, or locations should be reported immediately. More specialized assistance may be found 73 feet directly beneath stall number 55 at the stables outside of town. Do not bring uninvited guests.”
As soon as its message is delivered, the hawk bursts into flame and disappears in a cloud of smoke leaving behind only the faint odor of tobacco.
