Dearest friend;
I hope you have been well since we last saw one another. Business has been good, and my health has remained strong. I can only hope that things have gone as well for you.
I have acquired two new pieces of pottery from ancient Greece, thus continuing my passion for history. While expensive, these ancient vases are beautiful in design and decoration.
I have recently heard from my friend, Giuseppe Fiorelli. He has the distinction of holding the title of General Director of Antiquities and Fine Arts in Rome. Although he does have some archeologists from various representatives already in the ruins of Pompeii, he has allowed me to send an expedition as well.
We spoke of this possibility in Greece, last summer. I would very much like for you to join this expedition. We will be beginning on June 21, and will be excavating the Triangular Forum in Pompeii. I will be happy to provide transportation for you and meet you in Naples on July 3.
