The man you are meeting with, McDaniel Whiteside, is known to our Society. He is well studied in arcane magics. He is also willing to murder to achieve his goals. He should be watched carefully for the protection of those around him.
Furthermore, our historians in Oxford have discovered texts that reference a magical weapon in the "Lost City of Rome" that was once instrumental to driving off the Servants of Set.. It is believed that “Lost City of Rome” refers to Pompeii.
The greatest gladiator of the city was presented with a gift by the priestess, Eumachia. This weapon was instrumental in Rome's battles against the Egyptians. The champion who received it was charged to be willing to use it should the city ever face the "Servants of the Serpent God."
Until it was needed, it was supposed to be on display in the "Temple of the Foreign Goddess."
Your primary mission is to recover this weapon for the Society, it may become instrumental in our battles against the Settites.
