Because Imhotep is a blight upon the face of Gothic Earth, anyone who is near him begins to suffer a terrible affliction. This affliction varies from person to person. At the beginning of Encounter Three, Imhotep will be near enough that the party will have to make a Fort save. When he finally arrives at Hagia Sophia, they will have to make another Fort save.
Heroes who fail a single Fort save pick up Minor Effect. Those who fail both Fort saves pick up a Minor Effect first, then a Moderate Effect.
