This handout is to be presented to any and all heroes that removed themselves from play at the conclusion of the 1898 Living Death adventure Leverage in order to ensure the safety of Angeline Bayou, the favorite and eldest daughter of Dr. John and Sweet Medicine:
You have spent the better part of this last year watching over Angeline. Following your rescue of her from the island of Gran Terre, just off the coast of Louisiana in the Mississippi River Delta, you returned to Mobile, Alabama where your contact with the Inner Circle of the White Rose, Jebediah Carnacki, accepted your generous offer to look over and be responsible for Angeline.
Following your departure from Mobile, the White Rose provided your ship-board accommodations to Lisbon, Portugal. From there, you spent the better part of the next year moving in and out of small Portuguese cities from one safe house to another. Although you would occasionally venture into France, Spain and Monaco, generally as part of a circus, you kept your heads down and Portugal became home for the better part of the year.
Last month, you received a summons from the Society informing you that your presence in Atlanta, Georgia was required. Using the enclosed money and tickets, you quickly returned to the United States with Angeline per your directions, re-entering the States through the port of New York City. When traveling down the eastern seaboard, you followed the enclosed directions and while in Washington D.C., you met your contact, Lt. Marc LaFleur. Once assured of his authenticity, you released Angeline to his care, again pursuant to the instructions given to you, and continued your journey southward to Atlanta; which in fact is where the train on which you now travel is heading.
Any hero being presented this Handout should mark that their hero is now fluent in Language, Modern (Portuguese).
