The fires are generally very 5 days and are started around 4 ½ hours after sunset. The locations are in or close to Chinatown (the old Five Points District) and mostly affect Chinese establishments: residences or businesses. The sequence of locations is not in a straight line, but each fire site is close to the previous fire site (aside from the first site). The fires catch and spread so fast that not much of the buildings can be saved.
