While looking through the security records and sorting through the mundane reports you see that the following stand out.

• The Warrior be praised! FINALLY the new replacements arrive today. We’ve been short handed since Jorgenson and Talley completed their contract. Now maybe we can get back to a regular rotation. STC (Starshadow Trading Company) says there a couple of humans from the Ghirinshar station. A lanky fellow by the name of Garamond Tate and a stocky lad by the name of Paul Goran.

• Blast! This is the third complaint this week. You’d think Goran was a 13-year-old kid. I’ve got to file a report now or Harper will maim him for hitting on his wife again while he was in the mine. That idiot’s libido will get his ticket punched.

• I tried to calm Harper down but he took his anger out of Goran when he caught his wife giving the new guy a whirl. Two broken bones and a world of bruises. Goran will be off world by the end of the week. Surprisingly he didn’t press charges and no one “saw” what happened so I’ll keep an eye on the Harpers for a while. To add to the mess Tate has been gone for three days.

• Tate’s been gone for close to a week now and we must fear the worst. Yalson said he was muttering something about a fast before he left. If he doesn’t show tomorrow I’m contacting STC. Parker wants me to give Tate another before I file a missing person’s report with the company.

• Tate’s still gone and I filed a report. Hopefully he’s on some religious kick and will return safely.

Two days ago

• The day crew is late and interference is keeping us from contacting them. Oh well they’ve done this before. Greedy bastards! Trying to get as much mined as they can since pay call is next week. I sent Barman with the evening crew to check things out. Just the end of a lovely day. The STC sent word that the ‘scab’ purifier mules would arrive in a couple of days. Oh Joy! I love dealing with wanna be couriers.

Yesterday

• Neither crew nor Baraman returned. Against my better judgement I’m leaving the Harpers here with Parker while I deputize Rollins to go after them with me.
